The bells are ringing and Santa is about to gift us very shortly. It sure is a great time of the year! Now that the families and friends have gathered together, it’s time to gather around and watch a few movies that would bring joy to people of all ages.
Here’s a list of animated movies to watch and rewatch this festive season.
This is an example of how often a great idea gets rejected by studios because it is deemed to be risky in terms of box office success. Netflix has done a great job in acquiring rights for this movie which has a great script and the sweetest and wholesome Christmas origin story ever told. A touching story, a true masterpiece, this holiday classic will definitely keep you entertained from start to finish.

The first animated musical from Warner Bros isn’t a typical Christmas movie. It delivers a thought provoking message along with well timed comedy. So engage yourself as a Yeti goes out on his way to prove the existence of ‘humans’ to its tribe.

Jim Carey in an animated adaption of the classic novel by Charles Dickens is like a cherry on the top of a Christmas cake. Though it stays loyal to the book, sometimes even word by word, the portrayal of key characters are a bit darker and thus not recommended for children

A simple story, beautifully told and magnificently animated features Tom Hanks as the Santa Claus! It has it all: adventure, comedy and thrill. Given the technical advancement of animation in 2004, it achieves an amazing achievement that should delight all ages. Take a ride to the North Pole in the polar express this Christmas Eve.

As a child if you have ever wondered, “How does Santa deliver all those gifts in one night?”, then this animation feature should definitely be on your holiday watching list. The plot is witty and the soundtrack is breathtaking which makes it a delightfully charming holiday entertainment.

The list would be inadequate if our beloved Po’s 21 minutes short movie is not mentioned here. In this Christmas short, Po restores peace in his village during a winter festival. It has the voices of Angelina Jolie and Seth Rogen. Don’t mind the story being too predictable because it is a family movie.
